Back To School Outfit Trends and Ideas 2019

I can’t believe school is starting again, it seems like this year is flying by!  To me, back to school stands for a fresh start and a chance to advance yourself. You get to meet new people and train your brain to face adversity. While I’m not in school anymore I’ve always felt that when I looked my best, I’m able to put my best foot forward, that’s why I’ve put together a lookbook featuring my back to school outfit ideas! I mixed together budget-friendly items with more high-end pieces so use this guide as inspiration!

Outfit #1:

First Day of School

I love this outfit for the first day of school because it’s trendy without being distracting. I paired a simple bell selves sweater with a rust-colored button-down skirt. Threw on a dainty necklace and slid on these super cute rope detailed mules to complete the look. It’s put together without being boring, perfect for the first day of class!

Outfit #2:

That Bitch

This look is dedicated to the it girls of the class. It’s bold and daring, completely opposite from outfit #1. Neon has been a huge trend this year and I thought I would continue on the fad by wearing it in to fall in the form of this turtleneck sweater. I paired it with a black and white skirt to neutralize the top and threw on some dad sneakers to complete the look. If you think its too risque for school, try toning it down with a jacket!

Outfit #3:

On Wednesday We Wear Pink

Mean Girls is one of my favorite movies so you know I had to include a pink outfit in this lookbook. I paired a simple graphic tee with hot pink trousers and threw on some white sneakers to tie everything together. Graphic tees are a great way to bring personality to your outfit and tucking it something more formal like trousers makes it more put together! I added some blue light glasses to remind you guys of protecting your eyes when studying.

Outfit #4:

Sweatpants Are All That Fits Me Right Now

It’s getting towards the end of the week and energy levels are dropping. Sometimes sweatpants are really the only thing I want to put on and that’s ok! Wear a matching set to elevate the look and find silhouette that are not super baggy on the top and bottom to make it seem a little more put together!

Casual Fridays

Congrats you’ve made it to Friday and the week is almost over! Biker shorts have become a staple in my closet, and they are the key to my last outfit. It can be dressed up or down but for this look, I went with the classic long sleeve graphic crop top and sneakers. I love this outfit because it still looks cute without looking like you have given up!

Hottest Looks and Brands of Coachella 2019

Coachella is right around the corner which means you’re frantically putting together outfits and last minute accessories! Here are my predictions on this festival season's hottest looks to keep you #trending.

No surprise here, neon has been all over the runways these past few seasons and will definitely be a highlight of Coachella. The trick is to pick one color/tone and stick to it. There’s nothing that screams “I’m trying too hard” than seeing someone colorblock neon. We’re at Coachella honey, not an 80’s theme frat party. If you’re unsure about this trend try incorporating black into the mix, it helps tone down the color and you can play with different fabrics (sheer, leather) to give the outfit more visual interest.

Where To Buy:

Beginning Boutique

Dolls Kill

Pretty Little Things

Animal Print

Just like neon, animal print has been all over the streets and will likely be a headliner of this year's festival season. From cow to cheetah prints there are so many options to pick from. Pair this look with chunky boots and tons of accessories for a more boho feel.

Where To Buy:

Easy Tiger

Fashion Nova

Miss Lola - cc: ERICA20

Nasty Gal

Princess Polly

No Coachella lookbook will be complete without a little fringe so I’m including it here by necessity. That being said I’m seeing more fringe belts, skirts, and jackets rather than tops. Tassel bikinis are so 2012 - don’t get caught rocking someone else's past Coachella look.

Where To Buy:

East n West Label

Denisse M Vera

Shiny costumes were a focus for my group last year and it’s blown up even more this season. No matter what you wear it will glisten in under the desert sun making it an obvious choice. The trick is to find pieces that are metal based and not sequins. Sequins are more of an EDC vibe, not Coachella. If you want more inspo look up Burning Man trends.

Where To Buy:

Lemon Lunar

Claudia Pink

Sheer tops and lacy numbers are hitting center stage forsure. Opt for embellished pieces or unique fabric cuts to stand out. This is one of my favorite trends because you can easily reuse the pieces after festival season.

Where To Buy:

For Love & Lemons

Her Pony

Coachella is not only a music festival but a place where people show out on fashion. I hope this guide was helpful and provided you some inspiration for this years looks. Above all else remember to dress according to your comfort level rather than trying to fit in. Check back next week for my survival guide and last minute checklist.

Pre-Fall Lookbook

Summer is coming to an end and so is the life of our current wardrobe! I put together 5 different looks to help you transition your favorite summer pieces in to fall!

Outfit #1:

Puffy sleeves have been trending for a few seasons now and I’m not ready to let it go. I paired this off-the-shoulder cream top with some rusty brown shorts to kick off this lookbook. And pulled out my trusty espadrilles give this outfit a more relaxed vibe, not to mention the textures and color palette alludes to the earthy tones of this season.

Top: Vici Dolls
Shorts: Forever 21
Shoes: Aldo
Bag: Vici Dolls

Outfit #2:

I’m a huge matching-sets because it makes you look so put together without any effort at all. This set is made out of a light linen material to keep you nice and cool but the amber color ensures that you stay on trend. Simple outfits are easily enhanced by accessories so I threw on some teardrop earrings to complete the look.

Matching set: Vici Dolls
Earrings: Vici Dolls
Bag: Vici Dolls
Shoes: Aldo

Outfit 3:

Another outfit, another smocked top! Can you tell it’s one of my favorite trends? For this look, I paired a dainty white tube top with some faded black textured leggings and pointy nude pumps for a more sophisticated vibe. Super simple, but so put together at the same time!

Top: Vici Dolls
Leggings: Vici Dolls
Shoes: M.Gemi
Bag: YSL

Outfit 4:

In my part of town we have something called an Indian Summer which means it gets pretty hot late in autumn and this outfit is dedicated for those days. This mini dress features a vintage-y jewel tone print that I’m OBSESSED with! I added on some nude lace up heels and basket bag to complete the look.

Dress: Vici Dolls
Bag: Vici Dolls
Shoes: Ego Offical

Outfit 5:

Dainty florals can be worn all year long as long as you match it with the right items. For this look I opted for the classic blue jean and some red chunky pumps to add some interest to the outfit. I love this look because it closes off the summer season as it introduces fall.

Top: Vici Dolls
Pants: Top Shop
Heels: Qupid Shoes

Hey guys, it’s Erica here! We are dead in the middle of summer and I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite dresses for this season!

Outfit #1:

First up, is this yellow bodycon dress with little underwires to add a little interest to the dress. I love this dress for a summertime wedding or even date night! I paired it with gold accessories and clear heels to complete the look.

Dress: Reformation
Necklace: Child of Wild
Shoes: Lola Shoetique
Bag: YSL

Outfit #2:

Next, we have this off the shoulder white dress! White dresses are my go to because they look so put together and can be dressed up or down dependant on the occasion. This one, in particular, is made out of a breezy knit material which is perfect for staying nice and cool all season long.

Dress: Reformation
Purse: Princess Polly
Heels: Lola Shoetique
Necklace: Child of Wild

Outfit #3:

Linen is the fabric of the summer and this dress is giving me all the feels. Puffy sleeves and lace detailing makes this dress super romantic. Literally, all I did was put on this dress, and I feel like a million bucks! I paired this piece with my favorite lace-up heels to finish off the outfit.

Dress: Reformation
Necklace: Lola Shoetique

Outfit #4

I really can't put together a summer lookbook without throwing in a floral dress so here it is…. This a-line mini dress is one of my favorites, I’ve already worn it 3 times since I got it earlier this month. For this look, I threw on some white sneakers for a more casual look, but paring it with sandals and even chunky heels will be super cute as well!

Dress: Reformation
Shoes: Vans

Hope these fits gave you a little inspiration! I would love to see you recreate these looks and put your own spin on it. If you do, tag me on IG at @ericaluoo & #ericaluoo so I can show it off.

Fourth of July Outfits

Fourth of July is right around the corner so I put together four looks to give ya'll a little inspo!

Outfit #1:

I don’t want to play favorites, but the first outfit is definitely one of my favorites. It features this stunning wrap around red crop top with little star details and ruffle sleeves. I paired it with a white stretchy mini skirt with lace up detailing to make the fit more interesting. For accessories, I opted for my trusty gold coin necklace and star earrings to tie the whole look together!

Top: Tobi
Skirt: Tobi
Necklace: Child of Wild
Earrings: Princess Polly

Outfit #2:

This outfit may seem a bit simple but the star of the show lies within the bodysuit! Not only is it super form fitting, the suit is actually disguised shapewear meaning the material it’s made out of is meant to suck everything in. This fit is perfect for those who are going to the a BBQ but haven’t been up to date on that summer bod. I paired this fit with a high waisted blue and white skirt to stay on theme.

Bodysuit: Yummy Tummy
Skirt: Princess Polly
Necklace: Child of Wild & Princess Polly

Outfit #3:

For my lazy gals, this fit is for you. This off the shoulder baby blue dress is effortless all the while staying on trend. The top of this dress is ruched so you don’t have to worry about it sliding off, and the bottom is nice and flowy giving it that lax vibe. I love this dress for this holiday because it's nice and subtle and the waist is cut high so you can eat as much as you want without worrying!

Dress: Tobi
Necklace: Simple Dainty Jewelry

Outfit #4

The last outfit is as patriotic as you can get! Start with a red bodysuit, pair it with some high waisted shorts, throw on a jean jacket and call it a day. Perfect for those colder nights or to watch fireworks. Now the detailing is what makes takes this outfit from basic to fashionable. Don’t be afraid to play with different textures, like my lace bodysuit, or experiment with different linings, my jacket is made with an American flag afterall!

Bodysuit: Princess Polly
Shorts: Topshop
Jacket: Urban Outfitters//Tommy Hilfiger
Necklace: Child of Wild & Princess Polly

Hope these fits gave you a little inspiration! I would love to see you recreate these looks and put your own spin on it. If you do, tag me on IG at @ericaluoo & #ericaluoo so I can show it off.
